There are many who would love a return by Pamela Anderson. Brandy hasn't done the show in a while. Emma Pittman is another possibility. I am curious as to will be the next Velma Kelly, after Bianca's upcoming run. There are shockingly few ladies who have had (recent) Velma experience. Aside from AFW and Lana Gordon, the only other one I can think of is Leigh Zimmerman (my first Velma in 2011 and again in 2017). It's unfortunate that Terra C is no longer available to play Velma. This means that I'll have to travel some distance to see the Cellblock Tour, as the current non Equity Chicago has already stopped in Austin, Houston and later San Antonio. I would say that Bianca Marroquin stands a good chance at playing Velma. She could show Emma the ropes with regards to touring....which Bianca has done extensively.

Maybe Emma could return as Velma Kelly? Still, that is an unusually short stint for Bianca as Velma. I have mentioned this before in a post. There is an awful lot of untapped talent out there for potential Velmas. The producers should have a "Searching For Velma Kelly" soon.....STAT.... (more...)

If the producers really wanted to surprise us, then they would announce J. Harrison McGee as Velma Kelly. JHMG has had experience as Velma Kelly on two occasions with MUNY. Still, if they announced Leigh Zimmerman as Velma Kelly, I would LOVE to see her. LZ was my first Velma Kelly ...St. Patrick's Day 2011 and again in November 2017. I mean... Jasmine Guy would be an event.

I would love to see Leigh Zimmerman as Velma once more. She was my first Velma Kelly on March 17, 2011. I saw her again in 2017. I'll take a wild guess and say that it will be Emma Pittman as Roxie and Bianca Marroquin as Velma Kelly when they replace the current leads.

The question is who will replace Lana after March 12th. I'm figuring it will be Bianca Marroquin. I like her. Still, the show needs to cultivate at least one or two new Velmas. Is there any celebrity who could carry the role of Velma Kelly? I can't think of anyone right off the bat. Even an international Velma would be something.

I really loathed the character of Michael. He was vicious with a capital V. I really liked Emory and Hank. I felt sorry for Tex. He was really belittled by some of the group. I think he was my favorite character, as he didn't have a bad thing to say about anyone.

Question About "The Boys In The Band" film (1970)

I am watching the film released in 1970. I am wondering why the character of Alan broke down on the phone when calling his friend Michael. Alan's desperation made it sound like he was going to leave his wife and was a major closet case. Alan seemed to take an interest in Hank and was especially hostile towards the flamboyand Emory. Michael asks Alan why he was crying on the telephone and changes the subject.

By the way, I almost forgot to mention Isaac Mizrahi. He was actually very impressive in his performance. I knew he could sing, but I didn't know he could sing that well. Mizrahi came across as an adorable Amos. The audience loved him.

I first saw Lana as Velma Kelly in Fort Worth, TX: Feb. 2018 and later in Houston, TX: June 2019. She was amazing as Velma Kelly. The audience was supportive of her performance. She will be Velma Kelly for an extended period of time...until sometime in March 2023...more than 3 months.

Jennifer Fouche was amazing as Matron Mama Morton. I have seen her perform as Mama on the Cellblock Tour (Fort Worth: Feb. 2018, San Angelo, TX: May 2018 and Houston, TX: June 2019. Charlotte was amazing. She is a master of the Fosse style. You could see add her personal touches here and there to the choreography. At times, she uttered a "whoosh" sound for emphasis. My Upcoming Trip to New York City: Nov. 20-23, 2022

It has been a busy and hectic day. First, my airline SW changed my connecting flight from Chicago Midway to Nashville BNA. What's worse was that I would arrive at La Guardia at a later time. After my plane arrived, I got a taxi to my hotel on West 47th St. Needless to say, there was a lot of traffic. I finally arrived at my hotel at around 4:30 p.m. There was a line for check in. I finished that close to 4:45 p.m. I rushed into my room...and without changing clothes, I literally ran... (more...)
